Conversation: Travel Documentary

A: Hi, hadn’t seen you two in ages ! where did you been of to?

B: Hi, Penny. Ray is really excited. He’s just been so listed for travel documentary. He could be off traveling around the world for 3 months.

A: Travel documentary? What’s that?

B: do you have never heard about that? Penny watch TV!

A: well, actually no. Hardly ever. Especially since I’ve start to work in my vases. I don’t have time to break, lessly watch TV. So, what is it all about, Ray?

C: well, actually, it’s a competition run by public TV,  it involves my two great loves, travel and film making

A: Is it a program where people sent around the world making documentary videos?

     I have heard about it. Fantastic! So, you’ve been choosen?

C: Not yet, I’m one of the 34 selected for an interview next week. So I might be

A: yeah, There were about two hundred applicants from around the country. Pretty amazing, Ray..

C: well, I’ve been lucky so far.

A: What’s the next test?

C: 30 are choosen from the interview to do a 4-week training course in documentary film making. Then, the 8 finalist get send off with video camera to travel around the world.

A: Sound’s incredible ! what’s the cadge?

C: the cadge is that every two weeks you have to send in a ten-minute video from a different part of the world. It broadcasts on TV along with the work of three of the other competitors and judged by a panel expert and the TV audiences. So, you are under a lot of pressure.

A: wow, I guess so. You may be in television every two weeks?

C: Yup. But first, I have to be selected.
