Journal Writing: Typical Food

Each area, especially in Indonesia, may have their typical foods. Some has difference and similarity with the near district from one area. Sometimes it is also same but different in the way of making it, ingredients, how to serve, or for what it served. In South East Sulawesi, there are 3 most popular typical food. They are Sinonggi, Kambuse, and Kasuami. Sinonggi is made from sago flour. It’s process is to add boiled water to the melt sago flour. Then, we mix it with a special way. Because if we are wrong in mixing it, the result will be bad. That’s Why I call this as a special way. After that, we serve it with fish curry, coconut milk, and other. It’s consumed by mostly Tolakinesse. Kambuse is made from corns. It is boiled with a special powder. It is very nice if we eat it with fishes. Kasuami is made from grater cassava gathered with grater coconut. Originally, we steam it with a cone made from sago palm leaves. It has a great taste if we consume it with many seafood, especially seashells.  Mostly, people in Muna and Buton eat Kambuse and Kasuami as the main food for everyday. I like three of them because they have their special taste.
